Vivier Wines Sunchase Vineyard Pinot Noir

The History

Located where the Petaluma Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain, this vineyard works hard in the wind, fog, heat and cold brought on by the Pacific. The vines struggle valiantly in the rocky soil at an elevation of over 1100 feet

The grape

100% PINOT NOIR

Tasting note

The nose is weighty and perfumed with notes of dried earth and musky rose. Unexpectedly pure and fine on the palate a striking minerality is subdued by rich red fruit producing a long elegant finish and lovely aftertaste. 18 months aging in French oak. 6 barrels produced.
