Chateau Prieurs de la Commanderie – Pomerol

The History

Born from the merger of three estates of Fayat’s family, Pomerol appellation – Prieurs de la Commanderie, La Commanderie de Mazeyres and Vieux Bourgneuf, Chateau Château fayat benefits from a diverse and exceptional range of terroir.

M.Fayat, owner of Château La Dominique and Château Clément-Pichon, purchased this property in 1984. Located on the North-West part of the appellation, the vineyard is broken up into 12 plots.

The Grape

75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes

As this opens up it releases aromas of blackberries and cherries followed by spices, licorice and hints of crushed stones. It possesses a silky texture, nice structure and long finish. This is still extremely young and will require at least a few more years of bottle age before it should be considered as ready.
