The History

Etienne Terlinden – Winemaker & Owner
Etienne’s passion for wine was rooted in his grandfather’s wine
cellar at the family’s chateau near Brussels in Belgium while his
winemaking talents came to life in Santa Barbara County where
he became interested in the area’s unique microclimates and abil
ity to produce wines with dis nct character. E enne handcra s
small batches of excep onal wines, each varietal expressing a
very certain old world sensibility. E enne is also Execu ve Wine
maker for Summerland Winery and consul ng winemaker to a
dozen or so others in the Santa Barbara area.

Tasting Note

The Happy Canyon AVA is in the east end of the Santa Ynez Val
ley and is defined by unique microclimates and soils, warmer.
temperatures and a mineral terroir, an ideal location for farming
The fresh and fruity enthusiasm of the young
grapes lift the wine and explodes in your mouth,
while the perfect amount of vintage wine, that has
been matured and allowed to develop complexity,
give the wine character and balance. Made from
lightly oaked and unoaked Chardonnay to create a
creamy texture with a toasted vanilla flavor, hints
of ripe tropical summer fruit, and a clean refreshing
finish.
