Chateau Soleil Puisseguin Saint Emilion

The History

The Château Soleil and Château Croix du Rival estates were selected for their terroir on the basis of specific criteria: The vineyards are located on clay-limestone plateaus characteristic of the best terroir in Saint-Emilion.

There is a fine layer of gravel and clay over very thick limestone rock, which facilitates the infiltration of rain water and provides moisture by capillarity in times of drought.

This optimum water regulation is excellent for vine health and ensuring that the grapes ripen properly.

The grape

70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc

Tasting Note

A selection is made, only the best grapes from the best plots are used to produce Château Soleil. This is a powerful, but balanced wine, thanks to the limestone presence, that can be drunk in the first years, where it doesn’t display any wrong tannicity or austerity, but could age, with its structure.
