Château Liversan Cuvee Sophie – Haut Medoc

The History

Classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, this splendid estate built in 1850 was for¬
merly owned by the Marquis de Latresne during the 18th century and by the
Prince Guy de Polignac from 1984 until the takeover by the Lapalu family in
1995.

The Vineyard

On two plots of the vineyard, one of Merlot and the other of Cabernet
Sauvignon, selected among oldest vines, we produce a small quantity of a wine
represent! ng, in our opinion, the most complete result of qualities of Chateau
Live rsa n.

• Area of the vineyard of Chateau Liversan: 51 hectares.

• Type of Soil: Gravel limestone on a chalk subsoil.

• Average quantity of plants per hectare: 7,000 plants/hecta re.

• Average age of the vineyard for Cuvee Sophie: 45 years.

• Wine mal<ing process: Carried out in stainless steel vats over three or four
weeks.

• Ageing: 18 months in new oak barrels from the Allier region.

The Grape

50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 50 % Merlot.

Tasting Note

The fruity flavors marry with the torrefied side of the barrel. The concentrated
tannins remain supple and elegant. The impression of this wine is a great
harmony.
